Pembina Active Living offers a wide variety of programs and events throughout the year.

Weekly Classes

 

PAL offers many types of regular weekly classes/activities – fitness, yoga, pickleball, bowling, painting, writing, biking, golf, Bridge, etc.

 

There are four programming sessions in each calendar year:

  • Fall: September – December

  • Winter: January – March

  • Spring: April – June

  • Summer: July – August

Members must register for classes in each session.  Most classes require paying a registration or drop-in fee.  The first three annual session above offer similar activities/  In the summer session, special activities are offered.

Ongoing Presentations

 

Enhancing Social Connections (formerly Take 5)

 

Adult Day program (Mondays 9:30 am – 2:30 pm) exercise, snack, crafts, current events, lunch, speaker presentation or music (PAL Presents). Fee charged; transportation included.

 

 

PAL Presents – Tuesdays 1-2:30 pm.

 

PAL Presents is a series of presentations that enhance the intellectual, social and emotional well being of the participants.

We continue to provide interesting demonstrations and workshops. Some of our latest activities include:

  • Musical entertainment

  • Benefits and resources for seniors

  • Truth and reconciliation

  • Technology Workshops

  • DIY crafts

 

 

 

Still Bloomin’ Garden Club

 

Presentations on gardening topics (last Thursday of the month)

 

 

PAL Cares

 

Volunteer outreach group helps with special events in the community. S.E. Personal Care Home, MB 55+ Games, Siloam Mission, etc. (1st Tuesday of the month)

 

 

Travel Talks

 

Speakers on travel destinations, tips etc. (4th Tuesday of the month)

 

 

Alzheimer Support Group.- Group for those who care for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Social Opportunities

 

Men’s Casual Breakfast (every Tuesday 8:30 am) – Aalto’s Restaurant – Canad Inns, Fort Garry

 

MoviePALS – afternoon movie and dinner at a restaurant (3rd Tuesday of month)

 

PinPALs – 5 Pin Bowling – (every Wednesday 10:00 am)

 

PAL Café – enjoy coffee, a muffin, and conversation (every Wednesday afternoon)

 

PAL Scrabble – non-competitive game with fellow members

 

LunchPALS – meet at various restaurants (4th Friday of month)

 

 

 

Services for Members

Ring and Ride            Members can phone the office to request if a volunteer is available.

 

Tablet Library            PAL members can borrow iPad or tablets to practice with.
