PAL (55+) Stitchers Mending Service

January 31, 2020

PAL (55+) Stitchers Group meets twice a month to work on individual sewing, knitting, crocheting and other stitching projects. It is a social event, that gives participants an opportunity to work on their projects in the company of others. Some of us have wondered what kind of projects we could work on together and thereby add a service component to the outing. The projects need to be quick and portable as there is no storage space for us at Grace Church so two ideas came to mind. Currently we are working on making mitts for homeless people, using wool blankets, sweaters and windproof fabric. Our second idea, and the point of this notice, it to provide a service to other PAL members who aren’t able to do simple mending for themselves – ripped seams, loose or missing buttons, pants too long (sorry, but we can’t fix pants that are too short), and other very basic repairs. Information can be found in the flyer here. or contact :Lynne Lachance 204-478-5353  Email:  You can also contact Lynne if you have any old, matted sweaters to share for the mitt project.
