Making Connections Virtual Presentation: Sikh Turbans in 21st Century Canada – August 24, 2020
The PAL (55+) Making Connections committee is offering a series of presentations on diversity and inclusion. A number of initiatives were planned for 2020, but with the arrival of COVID-19 and the subsequent physical distancing and other protocols that were mandated by the province, the committee is endeavouring to offer alternative programming, some of which are virtual. We hope you’ll be able to attend the presentations and learn something new about another culture or cultural group.

The presentation will be on Monday, August 24 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  The presenters are Vineet Kaur, Imreet Kaur, and Parminder Singh Gill who will be discussing the spiritual significance of the Turban and how it can be understood as a symbol of unifying people from all genders, race, and religion in a Sikh context. They will also be demonstrating how to tie a turban. Please click on the link below for more information and to register.
