Pembina Active Living (55+) would not exist without the generosity and commitment of its volunteers! With minimal operational funding to support paid personnel, PAL depends on an extensive base of volunteers. The operation of our organization currently relies on 300 – 500 volunteer hours each month, and this number grows with each new program, activity, event and member. Currently there are over 100 volunteers who gave over 4000 hours of their time in the past year!
The Canada Revenue Agency states that “volunteerism is evidence of good citizenship”, and social research has found that volunteerism is critical to building social cohesion, which in turn fosters generosity, reciprocity and ultimately results in altruistic acts.
Volunteering is a great way to stay active and engaged in your community, to meet new people, to help develop the organization and enhance the programming and activities that PAL (55+) offers.
You will gain new experiences, learn new skills, put your expertise to use in new and stimulating ways, keep your body and brain engaged in the growth of your community and perhaps most importantly, have fun!
PAL (55+) volunteers are involved in a variety of ways including regular (monthly commitment) or casual (sporadic, project or event based).
Please let us know how you would like to be involved by filling out the Volunteer Application Form and mail it to:
